Agnieszka Dellfina and Thomas Dellacroix are two artists working and living together. They combined Thomas's interest for history with Agnieszka's fascination with human nature. Their joint projects deal with subjects like fame, image, commercialism world conflicts and mass media. By re-enacting different personalities and historical events they created their own Utopian world, where they balance on the thin border between reality and illusion. They have been exhibiting all over Europe, and have attracted the attention of many art connoisseurs, curators, newspapers, magazines and TV channels. They are pioneers of a still largely-unknown lenticular technique (prismatic, optically moving images), achieving astonishing results. Their photography-based lenticular works are rapidly rising in price on the international market, selling for up to 5000 euro in contemporary art auctions. They belong to the group of contemporary artists working for peace. Their anti-war exhibit was inaugurated at the Kowasa Gallery, Barcelona -March 2003. Some of these images are now featured in several books including: Designs of dissent and Peace Signs. This book has received the prize "Premio Ciutat de Barcelona de Diseño 2003." The artists have worked for the benefit of many human rights organizations including: Amnesty International, Red Cross, World Childhood Foundation, The International Research Foundation for Children's Eye care, Smiley World Association, and Bris - Children's Right in Society. For the last twenty years, Thomas Dellacroix (Dellert) has been working in various art forms such as painting, collage, sculpture, as well as music, video and poetry. He has had over 50 exhibitions in and around Europe and the United States, and is represented in many museums, as well as official and private collections all over the world including the Absolut Vodka Collection. His works were sold at auction houses like Christie's, Sotheby's, Bonham's & Bukowski's. | | | His visual language is direct, sometimes even violent, but always with a humanistic approach. Although he feels a need to explore the darker side of mankind, he uses irony and humour as his tools. In this tradition most of his art deals with the history of the 20th century. Thomas pays attention to the accuracy of his art works, for example making sure that all the collage material always consists of the original clippings from the period the collage is depicting. During his early years as an artist working and living in New York, he moved in the same circle of artists as Jean Michael Basquiat, and Keith Haring. His friendship with the legendary Pop artist Andy Warhol gave way to mutual inspiration--Warhol's Camouflage prints were inspired by Dellert's early prints. This, in turn, resulted in a series of silk-screens by Dellert, based on the Warhol technique. Even though some of their works look similar at first glance, looking closer one realizes that Thomas, brought up in a socially-conscious Sweden, exchanged Warhol's fascination with glamour and beauty for real life. He used a flashy Pop art language of expression, printing dramatic political events. In 2001 he started collaboration with a female artist Agnieszka Dellfina. In this period he decided to change his name to Dellacroix. | | | Agnieszka Dellfina is a visual artist. As an adolescent she was an elite gymnast representing her country internationally.
