Argentine-born, Spain-based EMERGING painter, Cristian Barnes works in the POP ART style, reminescent of the comics from the 1970s. The artist received his training at the St. Catherine School (Montevideo, Uruguay) and the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Manuel Belgrano (Buenos Aires, Argentina). His artworks have been exhibited at the following GALLERIES and PUBLIC SPACES: "Girls staring at a flower" series. Several portraits of girls and women in close up of her faces possing with a flower. The models have been contacted through the internet in several countries and the outline with her favourite flower and color assented between the artist and the model. Several of the models have taken photographs specially for this work. The most delicate and interesting features have the highest priority as well as the emotions captured on the shots. Most of the models develope an artistic activity such as photography, performance, music or painting. When the portrait is ended, I provide each model with a photograph in the higher resolution available. I try to portray not only the beauty and expression of the girls from several countries and cultures, but also the interaction with her favorite flower which are so varied as her features. The creative process has been funny and in several cases friendly relationships have been established.

The characters in our work shun individuality; their spirit is that of synthesis and unification in such a way that they become hybrid fusions of men and animals. These kinds of being abound in many so-called 'primitive' cultures, where they inhabit a symbolic plane between a magical place and reality.

In relation to nudes, I work with amateur models. They pose for me because they love art and they do it with passion in each photography session, facin drawbacks, long delays, hours travelling, cold or heat at times or just long walks some other times. They are the other part of this art of mine, since they give passion and effort in each photograph.
- Eldon Dedini
| For over 45 years, Eldon Dedini has been one of Playboy's most recognizable full-page gag cartoonists. With a masterful watercolor technique that burlesques a broad range of subjects—from East and West Coast urban and suburban adult-hipster to classical Japanese erotic prints—Dedini's most personal cartoons rely on mythology and legend, evoking a bucolic sexually liberated paradise that leaves its reader lingering over the imagery long after the gag registers. | |
