What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - unless it's the eye-popping,
smile-producing artwork of that town's most celebrated artistic
influence - Jack Henslee! Texas-born, Henslee started out creating
portraits of Native American and wildlife scenes. It's when he got to
Las Vegas that he started to illustrate that OTHER wildlife of
nightclubs and showgirls!
Then, not surprisingly, his reputation was
really made! An artist of multiple disciplines, this book focuses on
his ability to create inspired illustrations of the female form. In his
portraits, the pin-up standard is transcended, and there's a wonderful
reality to his art. The girls are not so much idealized as lovingly
appreciated, in all their winsome ways! The book is printed on
heavyweight coated stock, and the reproduction of the works is
state-of-the-art! If you're a fan of the pin-up, or just a devotee of
outstanding artworks, this will be a fine addition to your library.

About the Author
Born in Fort Worth, the
journey of Jack Henslee and his art has taken him from coast to coast,
but his inclinations always seem to lead him home to Texas and his
pretty ladies. Inspired in his youth by traditional illustration
disciplines, Jack's first endeavors of creative works focused on Native
American and wildlife themes. Discarding an early inclination toward
architecture, Jack's professional path then drifted toward the
development of an illustrious career among the competitive elite of Las
Vegas illustrators and graphic designers where he distinguished himself
as one of the industry's most prolific and sought-after artisans amid
the exclusive high-dollar hotels and casinos of the strip. Jack now
quietly resides a scant 15 miles from the neighborhood where he grew
up, devoting his full focus back onto his pretty ladies.

Being an artist was not planned; it all happened by accident, and has continued to develop that way. Every once in a while, some new and unexpected opportunity has presented itself, and so I've kept on drawing nudes, as and when I have the time to do so. I still describe myself as an "amateur artist".
Lara Addams produces erotic drawings, pinups, and sensual nude figure studies, using pencil and charcoal.
- Egon Schiele: Erotic Sketches...
An intimate look at the erotic studies and paintings of a controversial artist whose works continues to provoke even today.
Schiele’s fiercely drawn lines and confrontational compositions command our attention. His erotic art, most of all, evokes feelings of discomfort, titillation, curiosity, and even repulsion, and yet bears testimony to his talent and passion. This beautifully crafted collection of erotic masterpieces showcases the themes Schiele wove into all of his work: a fascination with the human psyche and sexuality, a desire to destroy the conservative facade of moral righteousness and expose the inner truth. Designed to resemble an artist’s sketchbook, this book offers viewers a chance to gain a better understanding of the technique and vision of this revolutionary painter.
- Naked Happy Girls...
As a collection of pictures of attractive women, Naked Happy Girls is
pleasing and a little unusual. While undoubtedly erotic, it avoids most
of the clichés of standard glamour photography. It remains voyeuristic
and feminists might condemn it as objectivizing, but it certainly isn't
pornographic by contemporary standards. The work is playful and even
cheerful, showing beautiful women in natural light. Ultimately though,
the book doesn't compare with more provocative and innovative nude
photography. There are some strong images, especially those in which
the subject looks directly and openly into the camera, because in
those, the women convey their own power, and show themselves as equal
to the photographer and the viewer.
- Dirty Little Drawings: The Queer Men's Erotic Art Workshop...
A visual experiment by a number of New York artists - intoxicating!
New
York City six years ago - a small group of fourteen young restless gay
artists joined forces. Frustrated that the drawing courses on offer
only had nude models in academic poses they decide to take matters into
their own hands. Thus the QUEER MEN'S EROTIC ART WORKSHOP was born! In
the following years the group expanded to almost 100 gay artists and
their collaboration proved to be quite fruitful. Together they produced
around 12,000 drawings - DIRTY LITTLE DRAWINGS.
- Clean Cartoonists' Dirty Drawings...
The risqué artwork in this engaging volume shows what happens when
artists in the squeaky-clean fields of comic books, comic strips, and
animation color their drawing boards blue. Here are rare private
sketches by such renowned talents as Milton Caniff (Steve Canyon),
George Herriman (Krazy Kat), Al Capp (Li’l Abner), Mort Walker (Beetle
Bailey), Johnny Hart (B.C.), Joe Shuster (Superman), and Bob Kane
(Batman). Some, like Carl Barks (Donald Duck), Hank Ketchum (Dennis the
Menace), and Dan De Carlo (Archie), are represented by naughty gags
drawn for girlie magazines; Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon) and Cliff
Sterrett (Polly and Her Pals), by pinups for the troops of World War
II.
- Mel Ramos...
Though primarily a figurative painter, Mel Ramos (Born July 24, 1935) has experimented freely with realist and abstract art forms for the past twenty years. A few of his works embody both formats. This combination works to enhance the detail and feature of each format while detracting from the duality of the image making it wholly singular. Born in Sacramento, California in 1935 he has enjoyed great success and critical acclaim as an adventuresome artist with the creativity and sense of humor it takes to remain on top.
