Erotic Art - Erotic Digital Art

Darren HopesAlways one to give into temptation I ended up studying photography. I learned to love the photographic image and the chemical aroma of the darkroom, but I was always an illustrator and I scratched and scribbled and painted on my photography, I pulled apart enlarges, painted on the negatives, cross processed, and cut and pasted I was in love with the whole process and of course I eventually scanned one of my images and opened it up into photoshop and my working method took on another dimension, for me this was the most intiuitive workspace I had found to date.

In relation to nudes, I work with amateur models. They pose for me because they love art and they do it with passion in each photography session, facing draw backs, long delays, hours travelling, cold or heat at times or just long walks some other times. They are the other part of this at of mine, since they give passion and effort in each photograph.

Germans are not really famous for their great passions or pleasures. Abroad, people like to watch them falling under the tables at carnival or at the October Fest, drunk and merry. Tacitus seems to have known this side. He tells tales of the ancestors of the Germans, in classical Rome. He found them a hard and wild tribe that loved to roam the wilderness, stark naked. Indestructible even then but not really prepared to enjoy lust and pleasure.

Photography as a way of living, with all its opportunities for expression, became my passion at an early stage. In particular, the magic of nude photography, which often lends the model an even greater aura of beauty and grace, is a great fascination for me. My models are my first and most important audience in what I do. I try to emphasize their individual charisma with specific erotic symbolism, and to approach the variety of their personalities with creative versatility.
